Realtime
It is not a history report. Right after you install the script, use it to confirm collection is arriving. For past days, use Overview or the data report.
ConsoleWeb analyticsRealtimeWhat the report shows
Online now is distinct visitors with an event in the last 5 minutes. Beside it, the page shows the analytics online count and the count of visitors who loaded the chat widget and can be messaged. It also lists active pages and sources over the last half hour.
The feed is split into people and bots, can be filtered to pageviews, custom events, outbound clicks, downloads, forms, and errors, and can be paused. Rows show time, page, source, country, and device. They do not show IP addresses or anything that identifies a person.
How to use it
After install, open your site. Within a few seconds the human feed should show that pageview. To speak to a visitor, choose Start chat. The message appears at the bottom right of their page. When they reply, the conversation is in Workbench. You can start a chat with the same visitor only once per time they are online. The combined flow is in Analytics + chat together.
Limits
Viewers do not see the list of visitors you can message. If chat is off, or this role cannot handle conversations, the page says chat visitors are unavailable. The analytics online count still shows.
FAQ
Why do the online count and the “can message” count differ? The first is people with the analytics script and an event in the last 5 minutes. The second also requires the chat widget.
Do bots count as online? No. The online count only records human events. Recognized bots appear only in the bot feed. The full bot list is in Bots & AI crawlers.
Globe
When a campaign just started, or you want to see whether traffic from abroad showed up, the map is faster than paging through Audience. For a careful country breakdown, use Audience.
ConsoleMonitoringGlobeWhat the report shows
The window is the last 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, or 7 days. It does not follow the header dates used on other reports. The map is sessions in that window. A list beside it shows country or region and session count. If the browser can draw in 3D, the view is a globe. Otherwise it falls back to a flat world map with the same data. An empty window is an empty state.
How to use it
Start with 24 hours for the whole picture, then shrink to 1 hour for visits that just appeared. For bounce, duration, and new versus returning by country, open Audience. That page follows the header dates and can drill into region and city.
Limits
A point is the country resolved from the IP address, not a precise coordinate, and the IP address is not shown. When there are many sessions the map draws only some of them, and the page states how many are shown out of the total. It does not split people and bots into layers. Bot detail is in Bots & AI crawlers.
FAQ
Why doesn’t the count match the map on Audience? Audience follows the header dates and deduplicates visitors. Globe counts sessions in the last few hours or in 7 days.
