404s here are visitors who opened a missing page. 404s hit by crawlers are in Crawl health & compliance. Fix paths that show up in both first.
ConsoleWeb analyticsPagesWhat the report shows
The top cards are page count, pageviews, visitors, average time on page, and total exits. Tabs are visited pages, entry pages, exit pages, hostnames, and 404 pages.
Visited pages include pageviews, period change, visitors, entries, exits, average time, bounce rate, and downstream pageviews. Downstream pageviews are pageviews later in the same session, after leaving that page. They mark pages that mostly send people onward. Entry pages show entering sessions, average session duration, and pageviews contributed. Exit pages show exits and exit rate. The 404 tab shows hits and the previous page that sent them.
How to use it
Clicking a row filters to the path, so you can continue into sources or audience. On a visited or entry row you can open the click map for that path and the current date range in Heatmaps & experience. Search filters paths only on the visited-pages tab. Definitions are in Web metric definitions.
Limits
Average time depends on the leave heartbeat. A single pageview with no later event has a very short time.
FAQ
Is the change column the same as page movers on Overview? No. The column is that row versus the comparison period. Page movers is on Overview: pageviews versus the previous period, at most five paths per side, and paths under 20 pageviews in both periods are dropped so a tiny base cannot produce a huge percentage.
What is the hostname tab for? When a project allows more than one domain, it shows which host received the pageviews. The selected host is kept when you switch to another web analytics page.
