Chat and analytics share one visitor ID, so the drawer matches what analytics shows. The code (for example #3FA2C1) is the first 6 characters of that ID.
What the drawer shows
| Block | Contents |
|---|---|
| This visit | Region, device, language, time on site, current page, landing page, referrer |
| Trail in this chat | Pages viewed during this Conversation |
| Analytics trail | Pageviews from the last 2 days, grouped as analytics Sessions |
| Past conversations | Earlier Conversations with the same visitor. The first one says so |
| Actions | Copy the visitor ID, or View in analytics to open the analytics visitor profile |
An Agent-only member can have the Visitor context permission turned off. Then only the code, region, device, browser, OS, and language remain. The trail, referrer, and history are hidden. The drawer does not show a raw IP address.
When the link holds
On the strict privacy preset the visitor ID rotates every day, so there is no single profile across days, and the 2-day trail breaks at midnight. That matches the identity rules in Visitors, users & identity. The conversion report also joins a chat to a goal only inside one calendar day. See Chat vs no-chat conversion.
Sending a line from live visitors in analytics creates a Conversation for that visitor. The message pops up at the corner of their page. You can send at most one proactive message per online window. Agent-only members do not have the Live visitors / proactive messages permission by default, so they cannot start one from there.
