Versions & channels
A channel here is the $channel value your SDK stores. It is not the media source on an attribution callback. That field is in Attribution.
Channels is ConsoleApp analyticsUsersChannels. The mini program shell has no Versions item. Scene values are in Scenes. If the project has both apps and mini programs and the header has not picked a platform, the channels page can switch between channel and scene.
Versions
Each row is a version: platform, share of active users, crash count, and first-seen date. Upgrade users are distinct people who sent $app_update in range. The stacked chart shows the top 8 versions and groups the rest as Other. The release cards on the overview only highlight the newest version per platform. The full list is here. Crash detail is in Stability.
Channels
The dimension is $channel on the event. Events without it fall under (no channel). Each channel shows average daily new users, next-day retention, and share of active users. The matrix plots average daily new users against next-day retention, to find channels that are both large and sticky. It stays empty until at least one day of next-day retention is due. The trend can compare several channels.
How to use it
Clicking a row in the versions or channels table adds that version or channel as a filter on the current page. Clear it in the header. Switching reports from the sidebar keeps only the platform and single app. Version and channel filters do not carry over.
Attribution
TapCub does not match clicks to installs, and it is not an attribution provider. The $channel field is covered in Versions & channels. The attribution model for on-site touchpoints in behavior analytics is Attribution.
The receive URL is on the MMP tab under ConsoleApp analyticsConfigurationBusiness settings. If it is not set, the report tells you to fill it in there.
What the report shows
Only events named $app_install are counted. An $install_source_status of organic is an organic install. A paid or non-organic status is a non-organic install. Anything else is unattributed. The three groups add up to installers.
The table lists installs by $media_source and $campaign. Another block lists $match_type. A blank media source is filed under organic. The header shows MMP connected or MMP not connected. It counts as connected only when a receive token is saved and at least one non-organic install has arrived.
Where the fields come from
The receive endpoint stores the third-party callback as $app_install. The report then reads the $-prefixed source, campaign, and match-type properties. TapCub does not create those fields. The token is saved per project in business settings. Resetting it disables the old URL immediately. Channel ROI reads the same install events, but it belongs to business analytics, not this quality report.
