Project settings
Whether a hit is stored, and how a visit is cut, comes from project settings plus per-shell settings. Changes apply to new data only.
Parameters
Time zone, privacy preset, and retention are project settings. Retention can be 30, 90, 365, or 730 days. Hostnames and app ids live with data sources: a website is a hostname, an app is an application id or bundle id, a mini program is an appid. Subdomains are allowed.
Exclusion rules match by type. Web can use address, path, hostname, and user agent. App and mini program can also use device and app version, with a trailing wildcard on the version. A path rule here is a second gate after the script exclusion in Pageviews & SPAs: one in the browser, one in the collector.
Session rules are in Sessions. Site-search parameters default to s,q,search, comma-separated.
Defaults & limits
Until an app or mini program shell adds its first own rule, it inherits the web exclusions and session rules. Page groups can be stored on the project (at most 30, matched by prefix, contains, exact, or regular expression) and the stats API assigns a path to the first hit. The console has no separate editor for them. The query string is not part of the page path. UTM values are stored as source fields.
Example
On ConsoleWeb analyticsConfigurationWeb settings, add a path exclusion /admin/*, or click Exclude myself to store the current address. Test devices go on ConsoleApp analyticsConfigurationApp settings as a device rule.
Errors
A hostname saved with a scheme does not match, so the hit is dropped and still returns 202. Changing the time zone moves the boundary of "today" on later reports.
Collection controls
Remote config lets you stop sending, sample, turn off autocapture or performance samples, or block a device or an event name in apps and mini programs that are already shipped, without a new release. The website script does not read it; website switches are script attributes.
Parameters
The master switch defaults to on. Off means the SDK stops sending and keeps the local queue. Sample is 1 to 100, default 100, stable per device id. The flush interval is 10 to 1800 seconds, default 30. The batch threshold is 10 to 1000 events, default 30. The local cache is 300 to 604800 seconds, default one day.
The event block list holds at most 50 names. The device block list holds at most 200 ids; a hit is treated as disabled. The element block list holds at most 50 class names. Consent, autocapture, text, and performance are booleans. Text and performance default off. Autocapture defaults on. Frame rate and memory are reported only when performance is on. A minimum version must look like 1.0.0; SDKs below it stop sending, which is how you retire old builds.
Defaults & limits
A config that matches the defaults is not sent. App and mini program shells can override the project config; otherwise they inherit it. After you save, the site cache updates. The SDK fetches on a cold start or when its local cache expires. A copy already in memory is used until then.
Example
On ConsoleApp analyticsConfigurationSDK code or ConsoleAll-platform analyticsDataData sources, set sample to 10 and save. After the next cold start, about one device in ten keeps sending.
Errors
A version that is not three numeric parts is stored as unset. Block-list rows over the length limit are dropped. The website does not start or stop autocapture because of the switch on this card.
